IASC Principles of Enlightened Practice
The International Association for Spiritual Coaching™ (IASC) is the world leader in the field of Spiritual Coaching. A special-focus program of the Global Council of Spiritual Teachers , we are proud to be a community of pioneers!
Our august membership is made up of applauded authors, community leaders, sought-after healers, wisdom teachers, spiritual facilitators and the like. We are the only organization of this kind anywhere in the world – one where pluralism and diverse beliefs are celebrated and expected, and spirituality is seen as a practical means to a good and prosperous life. For over thirty years, we have supported people in their quest for “enlightenment” and provided everyday tools towards full integration.
In the dynamism of the 21st century, “spirituality” is fast proving that it holds untold secrets for a better life. Thousands of people around the world are looking for higher ways of being and deeper answers to age old questions -- IASC was created to rise to the occasion! Our mission is to be a global resource for the expansion of human consciousness, and to promote the art and science of spiritual living. Serving both individuals and organizations, IASC provides education, research, advocacy and specialized services
that fully support the notion: “…when our spiritual quest meets successful living.” Dedicated to the practical application of spirituality and the courageous exploration of humanity's “inner” intelligence, our programs focus on enlightenment, personal mastery and planetary responsibility .
The nine “IASC Principles of Enlightened Practice” that appear below were developed to convey the foundational points of the IASC framework for the members and affiliates who are Spiritual Coaching™ professionals. Additionally, for Spiritual Coaching™ applicants, these descriptions will provide you with detailed information about what is expected of you as a practicing member of IASC – and give you a sense of the IASC identity and purpose… We are delighted that you are inquiring, and welcome your participation!
For visitors to our site, this outline will acquaint you with our core philosophy and organizational culture. The 9 points present our foundational philosophy and worldview, our commonly held coaching model and the key principles of the IASC teachings. And, lastly, these specific “Principles of Enlightened Practice” make up the defining ideas and body of knowledge that our programs deliver in terms of learning opportunities, coursework and conclaves for coaches, as well as for the general public.
IASC PRINCIPLES of PRACTICE:
I. “SPIRITUALITY” IS EVOLVING… Spirituality has moved into a “postmodern” expression, with people choosing to express their own spiritual beliefs based more on inner guidance than on externalized frames of reference.
II. THE QUEST FOR “FULL INTEGRATION”… IASC programs and services are designed to facilitate the integration of all parts of our being – body, mind, heart, spirit and soul – into a highly functioning Self that is infinitely intelligent and constantly seeks evolution.
III. THE COACHING “PARTNERSHIP”… An IASC Core Value, which affirms “self-mastery” and cooperation, as well as the idea that our professional role is to assist people to find their own answers within.
IV. COMMUNICATION AS “COMMUNION”… Every IASC member understands that for communication to be truly effective and result in lasting transformation, that it must be intimate, mutual, genuine and full of respect.
V. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF “CONSCIOUS CHOICE”… An IASC Core Value, that puts forth the important of awareness, self-responsibility and the power “CHOICE” has to shape our lives.
VI. “MASTERY” IS THE MOTIVATION… An IASC foundational principle, which states that we each have the ability to live our lives with consummate skill, grace, and the conviction to reach for the highest.
VII. “COLLECTIVE STEWARDSHIP” FOR EARTH… In the 21st century it behooves us to not only care about our planet, but to take ongoing action to bring about common good, healing, peace and all things that promote a “whole” world.
VIII. “PERPETUAL PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT” IS THE KEY… An IASC Core Value, which we point to as the thing that sets our community apart – all who are drawn to us commit to, and diligently live by, the idea that personal development must be ongoing and progressive.
IX. “PIONEERS ARE ESSENTIAL” TO THE FUTURE … As a group of spiritual professionals, and as individuals, we understand that building a better future requires the willingness to utilize innovation, intuition, inspiration and ingenuity to do what has never been done.
The above nine principles are the primary tenets that our IASC community is built upon, and constitutes the common denominators for all of our Spiritual Coaches. |
